Planet in Haarlem is looking for a Data Scientist to develop algorithms and machine learning models for satellite imagery time series. You will take research topics from exploration to production and co-own the markers codebase with the team.

Wat je meebrengt

4+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, or another STEM field
Understanding of machine learning principles and model validation
Proficiency in Python with maintainable code
Experience with AI agents and modern ML tools
Experience with version control and Git

Experience with embeddings or learned representations of imagery
Remote sensing expertise with satellite time series
Experience processing radar data like Sentinel-1
Familiarity with agriculture or EU Common Agricultural Policy
Experience with cloud environments and distributed computing
