Service for conference center De Schakel
De Schakel · Service Staff · Nijkerk

Hospitality at the table
Jako Vonk from conference and congress center De Schakel in Nijkerk, on the edge of the Veluwe, was looking for service staff.
Flexible deployment, in line with the modern appearance and with attention to hospitality.
Service in a conference center is different from in a restaurant. Meeting rooms are set up, coffee and lunches need to be ready at the agreed time, and at a dinner or reception you sometimes serve hundreds of guests at once. Those who work here combine planning and pace with personal attention for the organizer and their guests. Good service staff make the difference between a guest who comes once and a guest who returns.

Making the work in the hall concrete
For service positions, in the campaign we show what a shift looks like: the business, the type of guests, the busyness, and the team. A candidate can thus assess whether the atmosphere and work pace suit them.
The vacancy is aimed at experienced service staff and at people who are hospitable and want to learn the profession. We honestly state which shifts are included and what the team can teach themselves.
The message contains the practical aspects of the work: which shifts, how many hours, working on weekends and public holidays, and how the team supports each other when it gets busy.
This is how the campaign fits into our working method: role and region in and around Nijkerk determine the message and channels, and concrete questions in the application process help to discuss alignment with the team, even before the first interview.
