Optics11 is a leading deep-tech scale-up based in Amsterdam, seeking a Product System Engineer to drive the architecture and development of complex optical systems. In this role, you will define system requirements, lead technical decisions, and ensure seamless integration across multidisciplinary teams.

Define and maintain product system architecture, requirements, interfaces, and technical baselines
Translate product capabilities and roadmap objectives into system requirements
Allocate requirements across subsystems and ensure subsystem solutions deliver system capabilities
Define system-level verification strategy and criteria, support integration and verification activities
Lead system-level technical decisions and trade-offs across performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, risk, and lifecycle
Identify and resolve cross-subsystem technical issues, dependencies, interface conflicts, and architectural risks

Wat je meebrengt

MSc or PhD in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 8 years of experience in multidisciplinary product development of complex technical systems
Demonstrated experience defining system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and technical baselines
Demonstrated experience leading technically complex engineering work and driving technical decisions within multidisciplinary teams
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements engineering, interface management, technical risk management, and verification planning
Experience with requirements management and systems engineering tools (e.g. Polarion, DOORS, Cameo, or equivalent)

Mooi meegenomen

Experience with optical sensing systems, underwater systems, defence, or high-reliability products
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with architecture trade studies and system modelling
Familiarity with configuration management and technical baseline management
Experience supporting product verification and qualification
