About the job
Modulr is a fast-growing payments platform seeking a Director of Operations to lead its European operations from Amsterdam. You will drive operational excellence and governance across multiple locations.
What you will do
- Partner with Group functions to enhance quality and efficiency
- Lead approximately 20 people in Amsterdam
- Manage Amsterdam office and branches in France, Spain, and Ireland
- Own daily safeguarding reconciliation
- Drive governance and follow-through
- Champion operational excellence with AI, automation, and lean working
What you bring
- Senior operations leadership in payments, fintech, EMI, PSP, or regulated financial services
- Outsourcing and provider management across operations, IT, and product
- Management board experience in a regulated entity
- Multi-site European branch management within an international matrix or shared-service structure
- Regulatory awareness and engagement track record, DNB preferred
- Operational resilience, BCP, and incident management framework experience
Nice to have
- Embedded payments or B2B fintech experience
- Dutch language skills at professional proficiency
- Multi-jurisdiction European regulatory change experience
- Familiarity with safeguarding regulations, DORA, and first-line compliance frameworks
- Knowledge and experience of Dutch two-tier Board governance
