Join Project44 in Amsterdam as a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve core platforms for visibility products. You will design event-driven systems for high-throughput carrier data and own the reliability, performance, and scalability of platforms in a multi-cloud environment (AWS and GCP).
What you will do
- Build and evolve core platforms for visibility products
- Design event-driven systems for high-throughput carrier data
- Own reliability, performance, and scalability of platforms
- Build systems in multi-cloud environment (AWS and GCP)
- Partner with modal engineering teams to expose platform capabilities
- Share ownership of software delivery including development, operations, and test
What you bring
- 5+ years professional experience building large scale cloud systems
- Strong programming and debugging skills with Java Backend proficiency
- Experience with high-scale systems: high event throughput, tight latency SLAs, high availability
- Experience designing and operating event-driven systems on Kafka or Kinesis
- Experience creating scalable Java-based micro-services
- Experience working with databases (preferably Postgres or other SQL based DB)
Nice to have
- Experience building shared platforms consumed by other engineering teams
- Experience investigating large and complex codebases
- Hands-on experience with Java
- Experience creating APIs/web services: REST, OpenAPI/Swagger
- Experience with container-orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with observability tooling and running production systems at scale
