About the job

At Together AI, you will design and build multi-petabyte storage systems that power AI/ML infrastructure. This role focuses on integrating high-performance distributed storage with Kubernetes-native automation for GPU clusters.

What you will do

Design multi-petabyte AI/ML storage systems integrating WekaFS, Ceph, etc
Optimize RDMA, InfiniBand, 400GbE networks for throughput and latency
Build Kubernetes-native storage operators for automated provisioning and multi-tenancy
Deliver 10-50 GB/s per GPU node through caching and filesystem tuning
Implement multi-tier caching and data locality strategies
Set up monitoring, alerting, disaster recovery, and chaos engineering

What you bring

8+ years in storage engineering with 3+ years at multi-petabyte scale
Experience deploying high-performance storage for GPU/HPC clusters
Deep Kubernetes and cloud-native storage production experience
Strong coding in Go and Python for production tools
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
Technical leadership improving performance, reliability, or cost efficiency

Nice to have

GPU Direct Storage, NVMe-oF, 100GbE/400GbE networking
ML/AI storage patterns for model weights and checkpointing
Kubernetes operator development with controller-runtime
Storage snapshots, cloning, thin provisioning
Backup and disaster recovery tools like Velero, Restic
Storage encryption and security compliance
