About the job

Quantware is seeking a Quantum Design Engineer to join their team in Delft. You will design and simulate quantum hardware, develop manufacturable device architectures, and collaborate across teams for rapid design-to-test cycles.

What you will do

  • Design and simulate quantum hardware for performance and scalability
  • Develop manufacturable device architectures to improve qubit fidelity and yield
  • Optimize layout of nonreciprocal superconducting circuits for cryogenic operation
  • Correlate simulation results with experimental data for design iterations
  • Collaborate across teams for rapid design-to-test cycles
  • Automate design pipeline using Python for parametric generation and data processing

What you bring

  • MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years industry experience or PhD with relevant hands-on work
  • Strong Python skills for automation and data analysis
  • Experience with EM simulation and chip design tools like Ansys HFSS-Q3D and KLayout
  • Knowledge of cQED devices and superconducting circuit design
  • Experience designing nonreciprocal superconducting circuits or advanced readout techniques
  • Solid grasp of microwave engineering, quantum noise sources, and fabrication methods

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Git and Qiskit-Metal
