About the job

I3d is looking for a Senior Database Engineer to join their global infrastructure team in Capelle aan den IJssel. In this role, you will design, build, and operate highly available RDBMS platforms, automate database management, and ensure performance and reliability across hybrid environments.

What you will do

  • Design and build highly available RDBMS platforms
  • Operate and optimize database clusters with replication, failover, backups, and performance tuning
  • Automate database provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance using IaC
  • Manage Linux systems running database workloads, including troubleshooting and system-level tuning
  • Integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines for safe deployments and schema changes
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for database platforms using Prometheus and Grafana

What you bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing production database platforms, preferably MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
  • Comfortable operating Linux systems in on-premise or hybrid environments
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible and Terraform
  • Experience integrating databases into CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana in production environments
  • Valid EU work permit

Nice to have

  • Experience with GitHub Actions
