About the job

Clera is looking for a founding engineer to join their fully remote team. You will work on AI-assisted document review and diligence workflows, building and shipping features across the full stack.

What you will do

  • Talk with customers and translate their needs into product improvements
  • Design, build, and ship features across customer, analyst, and expert reviewer experience
  • Develop and operate platform for AI-assisted document review and diligence workflows
  • Build systems for customer data isolation, access control, and auditability
  • Ensure extracted claims are grounded in source documents and route unsupported questions to expert reviewers
  • Use measurable experiments to evaluate changes, monitor accuracy, and address regressions

What you bring

  • Two or more years of experience
  • Startup experience as a founding engineer or early team member
  • Full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend
  • Experience with agent architectures or LLM-powered workflows
  • Experience building document processing, retrieval, or extraction systems
  • Ability to work in North American time zones

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Rails, React, Postgres, or Elasticsearch
  • Background in fintech, legaltech, proptech, or energy and infrastructure
